I am so excited to show off the handy work of my friend, Karen, in today’s post! She recently decided to update her bedroom by creating a beautiful, afordable, fabric headboard. She was also featured on one of my favorite home improvement blogs, Young House Love. Be sure to check out their site to get all sorts of awesome ideas and inspiration!
From Karen: I used 1 X 2’s cut to size from my home improvement store (I attached them with L brackets which only cost me $5!). I did use designer fabric by Patricia Bravo but I got a great deal on that on Etsy so the whole project was really affordable.
Be sure to also check out the post that started it all: How to Upholster a Headboard. Special thanks to Sherry and John over at Young House Love! You guys are a constant source of inspiration (and also a good laugh!)
Talk about love at first sight! As soon as I laid eyes on this beautifully reupholstered Victorian chair, I was head-over-heels. It was created by British Designer Sarah Louise Dix. Her creations are all fashion-inspired and unique. This piece in particular would be right at home in my dressing room/walk-in closet (which hasn’t been completed yet, but that doesn’t stop me from dreaming about it!) Check out more of her work at Sarah Louise Dix Couture Upholstery.
Today I stumbled across a quaint little shop called Labour and Wait, located in East London. They offer a variety of products for the home, including kitchen utensils, cleaning tools, and even clothing. Their products all have a timeless elegance, so they will not lose their charm, but will improve with age. Here are a few of my favorites:

Unfortunately, Labour and Wait does not ship outside of Great Britian. So, I found another company who does: Dibor (coincidentally also in the UK). They carry products that have a similar aesthetic to those of Labour and Wait. So here are a few of the goodies I spotted:
